Who We Are

The Classical Patriot reflects two important aspects of the work of Oakdale Academy. Firstly, we are a Classical model school that seeks to recover the ‘old way’ of eduation where the focus was not on a job, but on the formation of human beings that are rich in wisdom and live lives marked by virtue. We do this by studying the ancients, learning from the past to inform our future.

The Patriot reminds us of the blessing we have to live and work in these United States of America - a nation uniquely blessed by God. We are called in our mission to prepare students to serve “God, family, community, and country” and recognize the great sacrifice and devotion to duty of so many who have kept us free.

In both of these, we are reminded we do this under the soveriegnty of God and under His guidance and blessings. As Classicists and Patriots, we take the best from the ancient times, even the pagans (the “plunder of Egypt”) and view their wisdom as it was then viewed through a Christian lens and brought to the Western world. As Americans, we are part of the heritage of the spread of Christianity that provides answers to the great questions of history and are stewards of that heritage.Join the crew
